Woman Dies In Vernon County Crash

Vernon County recorded their thirds traffic fatality over the weekend.

afternoon around 3:30 PM in the Town of Kickapoo, 70 year old Sharon Grim of rural Viola was driving down the Sugar Grove Hill on Highway 14 when her SUV ran off the road. After driving through a ditch, the SUV went airborne, throwing Grim from the truck. She was pinned between the lower portion of the SUV and the embankment. She was not wearing a seatbelt. The woman was airlifted rom the wreckage and flown by Med Link Air to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse where she later died. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office and the Vernon County Coroner’s Office.
