Petty Guilty On 2 Of 3 Counts For Shooting Man In Neck

Guilty on two counts…but ‘not guilty’ on a third.

William Petty of La Crosse has been convicted of accidentally shooting and injuring another man in the back of the neck. He’s also guilty of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon…but a jury acquitted him on the charge of intimidating a witness. Petty was handling a gun inside a La Crosse apartment last March when the gun went off. A bullet went through the back of Michael Jameson’s neck. Petty will be sentenced on September 20th.

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
