La Crosse Businessman Rings Wall Street Bell

THIS MAY BE THE WALL STREET VERSION OF SINGING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AT A BALL GAME, OR TOSSING THE COIN AT THE SUPER BOWL.

IN MANHATTAN THIS AFTERNOON, THE C-E-O OF A LA CROSSE BUSINESS HAS THE HONOR OF RINGING THE CLOSING BELL AT THE NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE. DR. ANDREW TEMTE AT KAPLAN PROFESSIONAL GOT THE INVITATION THROUGH A WRITER AT HIS COMPANY WHO HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE. 

THE KAPLAN COMPANY PROVIDES TRAINING AND EXAMS FOR INVESTMENT SPECIALISTS LOOKING TO MOVE UP IN THEIR PROFESSION. TEMTE AND SEVERAL OTHER GUESTS FROM LA CROSSE WILL BE AT THE N-Y-S-E THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE CLOSING CEREMONY AT 3 P-M, CENTRAL TIME.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
