Red Cross Weighs Needs In Multiple Quakes

WILL THE RED CROSS BE ASKING YOU TO HELP VICTIMS OF LAST NIGHT’S EARTHQUAKE IN TURKEY?

IT’S TOO SOON TO KNOW YET, ACCORDING TO CHERYL HANCOCK FROM THE SCENIC BLUFFS RED CROSS OFFICE IN LA CROSSE. BUT SHE NOTES THAT THE ORGANIZATION HAS NOT BEEN ACTIVELY SEEKING DONATIONS FOR VICTIMS OF LAST WEEK’S QUAKE IN CHILE, AT THE SAME LEVEL THAT RELIEF WAS SOUGHT FOR HAITI.  THAT’S BECAUSE THE DAMAGE AND LOSS OF LIFE IN HAITI WAS MORE SEVERE THAN IN CHILE.  MORE THAN 40-THOUSAND DOLLARS HAS BEEN DONATED FROM THE LA CROSSE AREA TO HAITI EARTHQUAKE PROGRAMS THROUGH THE RED CROSS.
