Popular area bands and singers are lining up to be part of a flood relief concert planned in La Crosse on Thursday.

Those performers will lend their talents to the "Fight the Flood" show at the southside festgrounds.

TUGG, Bill Miller and Mr. Blink are among the acts already signed up for the day-long benefit, aimed at raising money for area communities badly damaged by rain and high water since the last week of August.

Andy Hughes from TUGG said rain is not going to disrupt the charity show, because bands will perform inside tents at the festgrounds.

The fundraising goal is $150,000, and donations are already coming in, including a $15,000 check from Mayo Clinic in La Crosse.

The Salvation Army will collect non-perishable food items at the concert.

A special telephone line will take pledges on the day of the event: 608.782.9307.

Checks can be made out now to "RW Foundation-Fight the Flood," and mailed to RW Foundation at P.O. Box 1571, La Crosse, WI 54602-1571.
