Written by

A 36-year-old man suspected of trying to murder three people in California last month is being held in the La Crosse County jail.

Tony Thao was arrested Monday, after police in Onalaska saw him leaving a house and stopped the car he was in.

He's accused of trying to kill three people in the Sacramento area last month with a 40-caliber, semiautomatic handgun.

Thao was already wanted in La Crosse County for credit card fraud.

While he awaits extradition to California, Thao is jailed under $500,000 bond.
